Quietly sleeping

I have 2 children, Orla and James, both under the age of five and they are sleeping soundly so i can now dedicate some time to my blog.

I have made some progress today - added some new earrings to my etsy shop and i am here writing this.

I have so many ideas swirling through my head- for new designs for my higher-end gemstones but financially , not possible at the moment.My children are my life at the moment- i took the decision to be a stay -at -home mum but do jewellery making as a hobby,which i love doing as well as playing the piano. My mum, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago always said to me you can never have too many interests - i totally agree with that but where do you find the time for everything?.

On the design front i would like to start making my own sterling silver earwires and some hand forged pendants onto which i could hand some beautiful briolette gemstones. I will get there at some point, always have the belief that things can get better.

Begining again

Hi, my name is Christina and i am a part-time jewellery designer with a shop on etsy.

I thought i would try my hand at blogging as everyone seems to be doing it, so please forgive me as i am a beginner at this.

I opened up my shop on etsy at the end of last year and have had a few sales, but i really need to bite the bullet and start working on some new pieces.I have had no workspace for the past couple of months due to builders fitting a new kitchen and bathroom- this was supposed to take 10 days but the weeks have dragged slowly by. However they have now finished and i now have my workspace back, so no excuses for not getting back to work.

I have some beautiful gemstones sitting in a box so will probably post some pictures tomorrow.
